My sister was a quiet connector; John is an engaged communicator; I am a gregarious solitary.
I've always longed to be like Mim & John, both effective conversationalists. Boo hoo - less than 10% of what we communicate is through our words. Bad news for someone such as I - tone deaf. blind to body language & illiterate when it comes to reading between the lines. All I process are words, leaving me clueless about what's actually being said or shared.
Oh, I'm great at gabbing, dismal at anything with depth, with a self-fulfilling fear of being found a bore.
Is there hope?
